A potent mix of
Science and Soul
The more I learn about the body, the less I know.
Yet, my appetite for knowledge and understanding is infinite. And the longer I do this work as a massage therapist, the harder it becomes to ignore the energetic elements of each person on my table.
In each session, my first inclination is to meet you wherever you're at. Did you rush to the appointment? Leave a crying kiddo or maybe someone you're a caretaker for? Finally making time for yourself and struggling with guilt about it? Or maybe just thrilled to get on that massage table. I'm here for all of it.
And just a quick reminder. When you get on the table and your mind is racing, it's completely normal. Stillness amplifies what is already there. Which is where our work together comes in.
Embodiment is the state of being fully present and aware within one's own body. Experiencing the Interconnectedness of our physical, emotional and spiritual selves.
hn this world, and your relationship to a concept that is larger than yourself. Nature, Art, your Community, or whatever you see as a Higher Power.
Intuitive Scope.
Because Embodiment is so key to the work we do together, I connect with and see the body as a whole. Where is your breath? Is your shoulder pain connected to an imbalance in your hips? Or is perimenopause a component? Is your jaw pain connected to tension in your diaphragm? Those things might all be true, while you're also struggling with or storing an emotional component.
Now you can practice integrating the three. Without judgment, try to witness each component outside of your human identity. Witness them apart from the labels or difficulty, despite your circumstances or what is on the news.

“Melissa is the most gifted bodyworker I have ever worked with. Over the many years I have had the honor of being her client, she has held a safe space for me. She has helped me recover from frozen shoulder syndrome, facilitated my healing from numerous desk-job related injuries, and even helped my body process and release deep trauma. Her work is physical, emotional and energetic. Whenever I’m on her table I feel seen, accepted and deeply supported. She has taught me how to build from our treatments with movement and stretching exercises, but never in a way that feels overwhelming. Her knowledge of the body is truly inspiring. If she’s taking on new clients, don’t walk - run to get on her calendar!"
